      Brewery Tartaruga

It all starts with Patrizio, a young Italian living in Belgium. Every summer he went back down to Italy to see the family, bringing back beers for everyone. The famous 'birra belga' (as they call it there) was highly appreciated, and Patrizio amused the children by making turtles with the pins of the bottles.

During his first brew, he remembered this and that's why the brewery is called that. Tartaruga meaning turtle in Italian.

Since 2013, Patrizio has been brewing its own beers. At first he collaborated with NovaBirra (another brewery in the same region) but since 2015, he decided to brew at De Ranke to have more space and possibility of expansion.

Patrizio's beers are simple but very successful, a panel of seven beers is now available from triple to light bitter or even from porter to classic amber.
