Zoobrew produces original and surprising beers that are the fruit of Jean-Baptiste and Numa's passion for brewing trips and animals.
The story of the Zoobrew brewery began in 2006 when they scoured the Scottish pubs of the city of Edinburgh together. They then find themselves in New Zealand where Jean-Baptise works in a local brewery. Little by little, the idea of opening their own brewery is gaining ground.
In 2017 they set up their tanks in Castelnau le Lez in the suburbs of Montpellier. The Zoobrew brewery produces beers from all walks of life and each bears the name of an often little-known animal. Zoobrew's slogan is "Animal Brewery".
The result is 6 permanent beers, which is very far from the classic white, blonde, brown since we find a milk stout, a berliner weisse, a gose and a calfornian common.
During our visit in the summer of 2021, the gose Nautilus and the Berliner Weisse Big Viper were perfect refreshments even though it was barely noon.
Zoobrew also offers many ephemeral beers, some of which are collaborations with the best craft breweries of the moment. Here are the latest releases at the time of writing this little presentation.
