Brewery Jessenhofke

The Jessenhofke brewery is located in Kuringen, a small village in Limburg, in the street of the same name.

Gert has been making beers for more than thirteen years now, and he was one of the pioneers of organic beers.

The Jessenhofke brewery was the second to brew organic beers and the first to offer its entire range of organic beers. Indeed, since the creation of his brewery, he has made it a priority that all raw materials come from organic farming.

Another peculiarity is that all its ingredients come from the local economy. Even the hops are produced 100% in Belgium, in Poperinge. Which is rare in Belgium!

Gert's knowledge of the terroir, he owes it to his father, who was a juniper distiller (Limburg being THE province of this beverage). He spent his childhood in this small village and knows all the farmers in the area, with whom he works today since all the cereals he uses are produced within thirty kilometers of the brewery.

Over time he managed to have these beers present in more than nine hundred stores in ten different countries.

To finish the description of the Jessenhofke brewery, the squirrel that is present in the logo is the totem animal of the brewery. He made reserves to meet any eventuality and he took refuge at home during the winter. This represents Gert well, who during the year goes in search of new ingredients and in winter stays at home drinking a beer by the fire.
