      Brewery Ermitage

The Ermitage brewery is a brewery created by three friends from Brussels, Nacim, Henry & François.

They started at home on a small brewing system when they lived on rue de l'ermitage in Ixelles.

Then they had one of their recipes brewed at the Bastogne brewery, so as to have enough stock while they find a place to build their own brewery.

It was finally near the Gare du Midi that they settled, in premises belonging to the Cantillon brewery located not far away. The trademark of the Ermitage brewery is to use wheat in almost all their beers.

      brasserie l'ermitage

La Lanterne, the first beer they marketed, is a good example of this label. It's a pale ale but with wheat, so it's more of a 'Wheat IPA'. The second is even more marked; the ‘Soleil’ is a ‘Session Wheat IPA’, there is even more wheat.

Otherwise the Ermitage also specializes in beers with herbs; tea, orange, jasmine… They have made lots of daring beers with sometimes very unusual ingredients.
