Brewery De Brabandere
De Brabandere is an old family brewery located in Bavikhove not far from Kortrijk.
It all started in 1894 when Adolphe De Brabandere created the brewery in a disused barn. The brewery will manage to survive the two world wars. The first, the damage was minimal and production resumed immediately. And after the second, the production remained temporarily stopped, the descendants being too young to take over.
In 1950, the De Brabandere brewery took over. Albert (descendant of Adolphe) relaunched production and made it grow for thirty years. The Petrus is their flagship range, it was even the sponsor of the Zulte-Waregem football team for years.
This sports sponsorship allowed the company to open the doors of several establishments in the region, and offered it prosperity for the rest of its existence.
Today, De Brabandere is still a family brewery, Albert has handed over to the next generation. He still manages the administrative aspect of the firm, but it is his children who have taken over production.
