A Belgian IPA. Golden Tricky is brewed with the Australian hop variety Ella. This gives it an exotic fruity flavour that reminds me a bit of conference pears and tangerines. There is also a slight spicy coriander flavour in the background. This, combined with a good bitterness, makes this beer very easy to drink.

The exotic aroma of the beer might trick you into expecting a sweet taste. On the nose, you’ll notice some scents of apricot, mango and passion fruit. But you can prepare for some bitterness in the taste. You’ll get a quick hint of fruit and sweetness in the beginning, but the hop gives it a bitter aftertaste and a dry finish. 

The beer has a golden colour and a firm white head. The carbonation is medium to strong. 

The Golden Tricky beer was brewed to honour a witty priest in East Flanders.

Brewery Verzet is located in Anzegem, Belgium. It is in the Flemish part of Belgium, but not too far from the border of Wallonia. 

What food goes well with Golden Tricky beer?  

The beer goes very well with light cheeses, poultry, salads, fish, other white meats, and vegetarian dishes. The perfect moment to enjoy the beer is next to a barbecue or on a cosy terrace. 

How to serve Golden Tricky beer? 

The best serving temperature for Golden Tricky is between 6 to 8 degrees celsius. The Verzet brewery has its own beer glasses. Either a tulip-shaped beer glass or a degustation glass is available. A tulip-shaped beer glass is the best choice for Golden Tricky.
