Brewery Dupont

The Dupont brewery is one of the oldest in the province of Hainaut. In 1844, there was already a farm that brewed saison and honey beer.

About seventy years later, the farm was bought by the father of Louis Dupont to dissuade him from leaving for Canada.

Louis therefore recovers the farm and keeps the recipe for the season, known today as the Dupont season. As for honey beer, production was stopped and Honey Beer as we know it today did not appear until 1997.

After the war, Sylva took over the brewery. A member of the second generation, he relaunched the brewery and decided to brew Rédor, the brewery's only bottom-fermented beer.

With his scientific knowledge (brewing engineer), Louis' nephew wants to add beers to the range. Over time, the Dupont brewery has managed to create a place for itself and resist the biggest breweries without ever losing its values.

In 1970, the brewery brewed a new beer, Bons-Vœux. This is basically a Christmas beer but two originalities characterize it.

First, it is blond and bitter (which is a first at the time, these beers being more often dark, sweet and spicy) and it is reserved for the best customers of the brewery.

Over time it was discovered by the general public and it was quickly marketed. And that's good because today it is one of the most consumed beers of the brewery with Moinette and Saison Dupont.
