Brewery Gueuzerie Tilquin

Gueuzerie Tilquin is the penultimate born, among this very restricted circle of breweries that are gueuzeries (the last being Lambiek Fabriek).

It also has the particularity of being in Wallonia, which is still a first today.

It was in 2009 that Pierre, endowed with the necessary scientific knowledge, embarked on this extraordinary adventure. He perfected his scientific knowledge by working in other breweries such as Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen, to name only the two best known.

Located two hundred meters from the language border, it is near the Boon brewery, which is one of its lambic suppliers. Because yes, Pierre does not brew his own lambic! He works like the old ‘geuzestekkerij’ who produced ‘oude gueuze’ by mixing lambics from other producers.

He matures it, he blends it and he makes one of the most balanced and easily accessible gueuzes for novices in the field. Indeed, his blend of different lambics, from different breweries, is an impressive success.

He also launched into the production of various fruit beers but knew how to stand out from his competitors by avoiding cherry or raspberry.

The first born of its fruity beers is the Quetsche, which goes perfectly with the acidity of the lambic blend. Followed behind by more daring versions such as Pinot, Mûre, Cassis, Pinot Gris, etc.

Every two years, it also organizes a super friendly English beer festival, ideal for a family outing.
