Brewery Goutte d'Or

The brasserie de la Goutte d'Or is the pioneer brasserie of the craft movement in Paris. It offers accessible, balanced, thirst-quenching beers with a twist that reflects the cosmopolitan dimension of the neighborhood. It is also known for its many collaborative beers with craft breweries from all over Europe.

The Goutte d'Or brewery was founded in 2012 by Thierry Roche, who then lived in the Goutte d'Or district in the 18th. The brewery is truly rooted in its neighborhood and this is reflected in each of these beers. It is common for these to contain an added spice such as chai white and hibiscus red. This identification with the working-class district of Goutte d'Or is made both at the level of the spices added to the recipes but also at the level of the names of the beers, the Chapelle and Château Rouge being both names of the metro station of the district.

Beyond the 5 beers in the permanent range (Ernestine, Château Rouge, Chapelle, Myrha and Petite Pigalle), the Goutte d'Or brewery offers a rustic range which contains beers resulting from a mixed fermentation after a period in lightning. A large part of the beers in the rustic range are also linked to the winemaking activity, whether through the addition of grape must or the use of tuns that have contained wine.

The Goutte d'Or brewery fits in a pocket handkerchief and as a result, there is no organized brewery visit, nor a taproom for an on-site tasting. The brasserie nevertheless turns into a shop at the end of the day from Tuesday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The beers are available in different formats and it is also possible to fill your growler.

Today, many craft breweries co-exist in Paris or its surroundings, but the Goutte d'Or brewery remains a sure reference.
