Story of Brewery Totem
The story of the Totem brewery begins in 2011 when Klaas and Liesbeth decided to start home brewing in their garage.
Already passionate, they have a lot of knowledge that can help them in their business. They are also behind the beer festival in Ghent which they organized with other brewers in the region.
In 2013, they decided to enter the 'Brouwland' competition for amateur brewers. This competition is a barometer for novice brewers and sometimes becomes a real springboard for those who take part. They put two beers in competition and the IPA got third place (which is excellent in this category) and first for their Chili Stout, which they still brew today.
The production is an imperative, they entrust it to Anders! time to build their own brewery. In 2015 they will move to ‘Bryggja Brewery’ instead of Anders!, so that they can brew themselves on this facility and it is also much closer to home.
Finally in 2019, it's the consecration, their brewery is ready in Evergem (village on the edge of Ghent) and since then they have released half a dozen beers which are particularly daring and successful.
